圣诞礼物包装大功告成 We did it!!! First Time Xmas Gift-Wrapping

(Sue 撰稿/报告)     华人会今年向 Shepparton 市府申请帮助提供圣诞礼物包装的服务，申请得到批准。我们就集合了五位义工，在上星期四、五、六、和本星期一连续四天在 Harris Scarfe 入口为路人包装圣诞礼物。

我们的义工服务本身也是筹款活动，包装的所有材料都由市府提供，五位义工们贡献自己的时间，路人使用我们的服务时也有一分几豪到两块钱的捐款。

五位义工是副会长Doris, 会员Cindy、 小华、美杉和啊雪。 连同市府补助的$250，我们一共筹得$331.90.

在此也鸣谢华人会其他会员对这次活动的大力支持：

啊荣同Lisa(永利Takeaway) 让我们借用了他们的发财猫，用于收集捐款;
James (Noodle Box) 、 Cindy、 美杉的姐姐都给我们提供美味的午餐了;
啊标哥、Mimi Leung、Charlie Chan、Helen巧明、会长Andrew Pan、Graham Watson 等都抽空去现场为义工们打气。 谢谢！！

(Reported by Sue Chen)   The GV Chinese Association for the first time helped out with Christmas gift-wrapping in the mall for four days recently. We offered our help to the Shepparton City Council and four volunteers staffed the wrapping counter at the Harris Scarfe entrance on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 14th of December.

We thank the public for donating a total of $81.90 for our effort.

The volunteers are GVCA Vice-President Doris Nilsen, GVCA members Cindy Chan, Xiaohua Pan, Meishan Lin and Sue Chen. Although none of them was experienced in gift-wrapping, they are all so much better by the end of the 4th day. We look forward to another opportunity to put to good use of what we learned!!

We thank the Shepparton Council for this opportunity for being part of GV community’s festive celebration. Not only we learned a lot more about Australians’ spirit of giving that is Christmas, we also found a very meaningful way to do our share of helping the GV community.
