主讲人Webinar Presenter:

苏珊娜博士（Dr Susanne Döpke）——居住在澳大利亚、具有德国背景的著名家庭启蒙教育专家，研究多元化社会中的儿童培养，专门从事双语和跨文化交流中的语言学习和研究工作。在帮助父母培养孩子讲母语方面，出版了多本书籍和文章。

Dr Susanne Döpke is a renowned expert in enlightening families with the needs of raising bilingual or multilingual children in a multicultural society.
She is a German background speech pathologist living in Australia. Susanne specializes in language acquisition, bilingualism and cross-cultural communication. Her PhD thesis focuses on what parents can do to ensure that their child will become successful in speaking the home language. She has various published books and articles in this field.

1. 借助父母资源

帮助语言教师利用父母意愿来支持孩子们学习英语以外的其他语言，解决非英语背景的父母以及孩子的需求; 如何向父母提供语言学习的建议和策略；为非英语背景家庭制定策略，使父母能够参与并支持孩子的语言学习。

Using parents as a resource
The purpose of this half-hour presentation is to help *LOTE / Language teachers capitalise on parents’ willingness to support their children’s learning of a language other than English. The talk will address the specific needs of *NESB parents and their children, suggest ways in which teachers can advise parents on language maintenance, outline strategies for involving parents in follow-up work and for supporting the language goals of NESB families.

2. 如何成为孩子的语言资源

帮助父母了解他们在孩子语言成长过程中所扮演的角色，并提出一系列建议，如：如何使孩子的语言学习变得更加有趣，如何使英语作业成为语言学习的延伸，以及家长与老师保持联系的重要性等。

How to be a language resource for your child
The purpose of this half-hour presentation is to help parents’ understand the role they play in helping their children making progress with LOTE. Susanne will make suggestions regarding making LOTE activities fun and rewarding for children, how to turn English homework into LOTE extensions, and the importance of maintaining contact with teachers.
