The Meaning Behind the Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most beloved traditions across East and Southeast Asia. It symbolises reunion, harvest, and hope — a time for families and communities to come together, share food, and reflect on the beauty of connection beneath the same full moon.
For the Shepparton community, this year’s festival represented more than tradition — it was a chance to reconnect after years of quiet, rebuild relationships, and celebrate the rich diversity that makes the Goulburn Valley shine.
